DEARBORN – Automakers, like Ford Motor Company, continue to see consistent orders even as prices grow at a time when critics question the market for all-electric vehicles.
For individuals who already have reservations to purchase the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck, Ford reopened its retail order banks on Thursday. Three work shifts and full production have since resumed at the Dearborn, Michigan, facility where a battery fire happened last month.
Following the battery fire in the holding lot of the centre, the manufacturer temporarily halted assembly of the well-known truck for five weeks. The situation is now back to normal.
The most recent costs for brand-new 2023 Lightning orders:
The Lariat Standard Range increases to $75,974 from $74,474
Platinum increases to $98,074 from $96,874
Following a fire in February, Ford recalled 18 electrified F-150 Lightning trucks due to battery issues.
Added vehicle recalls
For a “unnecessary” item that could lead to a gasoline leak and fire, 57,000 Jeep Wranglers have been recalled.
Ford has adjusted the price of the F-150 Lightning Pro from $55,974 to $59,974 in advance of the opening of the commercial order banks in mid-April. The allocated number of 2023 F-150 Lightning Pro vehicles for non-commercial clients has already been consumed. During the 2023 model year, that Lightning Pro order bank will remain closed.
Early on, we sold out of Pro, according to Gunsberg.
While the more expensive trim levels provide higher-end interior and external finishes like a lightbar that runs over the front trunk, plush leather seats, a larger display screen on the dashboard, and a glass top, the Pro is generally seen as the tough entry-level electric truck.
